City & Guilds Manual Handling Training

This Course has been developed to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to be able to carry out manual handling including moving handling operations safely, and without risk of injuring themselves or others. The course is suitable for anyone who has to carry out manual handling activities associated with their work.

Learning Objectives

Successful completion of the course will enable candidates to understand:

  • That manual handling operations can be hazardous to health.
  • The anatomy of the spine and how manual handling operations can cause injury to health.
  • The scope of legal requirements with regard to manual handling operation in the workplace.
  • The process of assessing risks from manual handling and the factors that need to be considered in a manual handling risk assessment.
  • The value of risk assessment and how it applies to safe manual handling practice in work situations.

The training time to cover the syllabus must be at least three hours and is typically covered in half a day. Course certificates are provided for all delegates.
